Cupcake in a Jar.

I found this cute and yummy recipe at http://www.joyshope.com/

I can't wait to make them for some friends and family!

Here's the recipe:

1. Find any box of you're favorite cake mix
2. Follow directions on the box and put the batter in a cupcake pan.
3. While the cupcakes are baking...
4. Make the frosting
Here is the C&H 5 minute buttercream recipe:
1 box powdered sugar
1 stick salted butter at room temp.
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Combine and beat until creamy.

5. When the cupcakes have cooled, place one with the bottom side down, into each jar
6. Put another cupcake on top of the first layer of frosting, add even more frosting
7. Screw the lid on and make a cute top with ribbon and fabric.

Simple.

The possibilites are endless though, I've seen some where you add sprinkles and different colored frostings etc..

HAPPY 4TH of JULY!!

This weekend was awesome. A well needed long vacation from work for both of us.

FRIDAY, we went to the Fourth of July parade with Ellen and Whit and then with our great friends, The Rappleyes. We had such a fun time! I seriously LOVE parades! I love that it brings in the spirit of the holiday! Steve and I are so grateful for the Rappleyes, they are such great friends to us.

After the parade we all went over to Bob and Ellen's and showed Deni the horses. Deni is SO smart. Seriously. She remembers everything that you tell her. Steve told her a couple weeks ago what the horses names were and what they ate. She remembered the names and that the horses ate carrots. She's such a doll!

SATURDAY, We met up with my family in Park City! We went to the Olympic Park. Which is awesome! I've never been there before. They have a fun ski museum and everyone was able to go on one of the rides. Steve and my dad along with all my other siblings went on the Zip line. NO THANK YOU. I'm seriously so scared of heights, there is no way I was going on that thing. So, me and my mom went on the Alpine slide. That was a lot of fun! I haven't done that slide in such a long time. Actually, last time was when Steve and I were on our honeymoon-Almost 4 years ago! We had a way fun time! I want to go there again soon.

Towards the evening, we met up with The Rappleye's and went to the firework show.Seriously LOVE fireworks, and we LOVE the Rappleye's. Can't ever get enough of these guys.

SUNDAY, We spent more time with The Rappleye's and went to Capri's baby blessing. The blessing was awesome, and we had great food afterwards.

MONDAY, Was heaven. No work for me. Wahoo! We woke up super early (53:0ish) and went boating with Steve's fam! So fun! Can't ever get enough of boating. We went boating all morning, and got home around 2. Then we met up with Todd and Larissa at Red Robin's for lunch. We haven't seen these two in forever! So it was really fun to catch up with them.

Heavenly Father knows me.

Steve and I have been so busy lately. It's almost overwhelming. No wonder why I'm so stressed all the time. Thanks for all the comments from my previous post. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who stresses. And all of the ideas to reduce stress are great. I've been really trying to focus on what makes me stress and how I can limit it.
I wanted to jot down this little miracle that happened to me the other day.
It's pretty amazing how the lord knows everything about me, and what I need to know/hear.
So, while I was putting on my makeup early Sunday morning I had this thought in my head. Or more like a whispering. "Keira you need to start thinking of thoughts about fathers, your speaking in sacrament." I starting thinking of all these thoughts about my dad. I than thought, "Well I'm not speaking in sacrament, I'm teaching young women's, so maybe I need to talk about dads. Which makes perfect sense because it's father's day next Sunday."
As the day went on I completely forgot about my prompting. And I enjoyed my time at the Ford's celebrating Preston's homecoming. Later that evening I got a call from the Bishop asking me to speak on Sunday about the Influence that fathers have. I'm a stress-er, I've mentioned this before. I really don't like speaking in sacrament meeting ( I don't mind teaching yw, or primary etc.) but there is something about sacrament meeting that REALLY stresses me out about speaking. The awesome thing is, when the bishop asked me, I felt at peace. I already knew that I was supposed to speak, heavenly father gave me that prompting. So, I had no need to stress.
It's so amazing that he really knows me and loves me enough to let me know that a head of time. It's something simple, but completely huge for me.
I had Steve give me a blessing too about my stressing problem. I'm not going to say that I don't stress, because I still do. But, I have felt a lot more at peace and I'm learning to notice more of what stresses me out and how I can try and fix it.
I'm so grateful to my Father in Heaven, I know that through him nothing is impossible.

Women's Conference 2010 and then some...

This weekend was AWESOME!!! I got to start my week off by going to Women's Conference with my cute mom in-law Ellen. I remember going to women's conference a long time ago with my mom and my sisters and doing a service project. I thought it was a fun experience, but this time I got more out of it. I'm sure it has everything to do with the fact that I'm older now. I was able to go to so many classes. It was such an awesome experience. I needed an uplifting weekend. The talks I swear were meant just for me. :) It was great just seeing ladies everywhere and no men! It's pretty neat looking around knowing that all the women who were there were all there for the same reason-to be uplifted. I loved everything about the experience. We listened to talks, sang, and also did a service project. I can't wait to go again next year. I wish they did women's conference every month!
My mom was there too and I got to be with her for the opening and closing ceremony too, it was fun having both of them with me!

Saturday, Steve and I got to go to my friend Krystal's couples baby shower. Which I thought was completely awesome that it was couples. I never heard of a couples baby shower before, and I think it was really fun! It was fun seeing her and her cute prego belly! :) Which I'm totally jealous of by the way. But it was so fun to see some friends from high school that I seriously haven't seen since high school. It was neat seeing what everyone was up to and what life is in store for everyone.

After the shower we headed to Logan to meet up with Jason and Shannon. We wanted to see them before they moved to Canada for the summer. We had such a fun time with them! We love these two and we will miss them for sure! Thank goodness it's only for the summer. ;)
Some things we did while we were there...
We ate way too much food, played lots of UNO, Shannon gave us a tour- ha ha, Drove around Logan, watched the Jazz game, Hastings, Wii, lots of talking, sleeping in.

Jason & Shannon

What a fun and uplifting weekend! Too bad the weekends always go so much more quicker than the weekdays!

Oh and something completely RANDOM the past 2 weekends I've been told I look like I'm between the ages of 12-17! :( I know it's supposed to be a compliment to look young, but c'mon ppl! Okay, What do I need to change? my hair? my clothes? my makeup? I can't change my baby face.
