Disneyland Trip part 1

Steve and I FINALLY went on our Disney trip!!! We've been planning it for months and it finally came. Unfortunately, the waiting took forever and our trip flew by. Dang. That's how it always is though.
It's usually just Steve and I on our trip's, but this time we went with our besties-The Rappleye Fam! Big surprise? I think not.
We met up on Saturday, the 16th after Steve took the PCAT exam. We decided we would all just ride together to Cali. SO, we all piled up into the Rappleye's Honda Pilot. Were we crazy?? A little. Driving 10 hours to Cali is so SUPER long!! Seriously.
ANYWAY. So, yeah, driving wasn't the highlight of the trip, BUT we had a BLAST. Plus, I was able to sleep like 80% of the time in my back seat. SO, I really am not complaining.
Saturday night we drove to VEGAS and stayed with the Rappleye's friends-The Burt Family. This family was super nice. They're down to earth, and very giving. We all stayed up watching and laughing at a Brian Regan DVD. We all crashed and woke up to them making us a nice breakfast. Love 'em.
Sunday, the 17th: we got back on the road again and drove....drove...drove...ate....watched Carebears....Beauty and the Beast...Leapfrog(choices picked by cutie patootie Deni)..mancala ipod matches with Steve...sleeping...sleeping...
We didn't get to Palm Springs until around 5:30ish. We stayed at the Palm Canyon Resort and Spa. It was a really nice place. We were all worn out from the drive so we relaxed when we got there. We checked out our pool and our place that we were going to be living out for the next week.
Monday, the 18th: Disneyland BABY!!! I am such a kid at heart. I love, love, LOVE Disneyland. I love everything about it. Okay, maybe not the crowds...but other than that I love it. Steve and I went in 2007 during Christmas time, and we loved how everything was decorated for Christmas. I couldn't wait to see how it would be decorated for Halloween.
We were both pleasantly surprised to see the streets decorated with all the Halloween Decor. We had a BLAST the entire day!

On our way to Disney! Woot-Woot!

Lol. I look like a dork. I look like a giddy kid-look at my face! BUT the main focus of this pic is that We are in front of the DISNEY gates! Check out the October Decorations!

Steve & I

Here's some of things we did...

While we ate, we watched "Jedi Training Academy"
Random kids from the crowd were able to learn how to be a Jedi and fight Darth Vader.

The little guy fighting Darth was so super cute. He seriously thought he was Luke Skywalker.

Splash Mountain

yes, we take pictures of the picture. So much more cheaper that way.

Pirates of the caribbean Ride

One of my favorites. I love how realistic everything is!

Haunted Mansion
I wish I could say we actually rode the ride..but the line was FOREVER long. I think we waited an hour and it barely moved. So, we got out of line.

Matterhorn
Fun. Just Fun.

Space Mountain
Loved it! It was super turn-y though, made me feel a little motion sick.
My head is covered in this pic, but look at Steve just having a blast!

Finding Nemo
Dang. You can barely see the submarines..if you look close you can see them. SUPER cute ride.

Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
LOVE this ride. I could definitely improve on my score though! I love how serious Steve and I are in this pic we are determined to hit those targets!

Before we knew it, it was already time to go. THANK goodness we still had one more day of Disneyland! I seriously couldn't wait until the next day.
Our drive home I slept. Ever since I was super little cars put me to sleep. NOT when I'm driving, but when I'm the passenger. I just get so relaxed it pretty much rocks me to sleep.
Any who We all had a great time!!
The next day at Disney was a different story. Okay, not completely but there was one BIG downfall.

Craft Night w/my Sista's!

Kart thought it would be fun if we all got together to make flowers for our hair. It was super fun! We were able to share our fabrics and materials with each other. We ate pizza and cookies and craft-ed the night away! ha ha. -Seriously though, Midnight is way too late for me. I'm so grateful for my cute sisters (Kart and Jade). I wish Midge could of joined us, but it's just another excuse to have another craft night!! Christina also joined us for our craft night and so did Carson. Carson distracted me sooo much! In a good way of course. I loved when he would just come right in and say "Hi guys" or singing Mary had a little Dog, and singing his ABC's with me.

Horseback Riding!

Steve and I saw the movie "Secretariat" on Friday and LOVED it!!! It reminded us of the love that we have for horses.
SO, Saturday we went over the Ford's and rode Duckie and Docie! We seriously LOVED it!!! We are going to go horseback riding every week now...before it starts getting cold. Steve and I had such a great time. I love that when your riding you feel so free, and one with the horse. It's amazing. It was also a lot of fun seeing Jason and Shannon! Glad that they were able to ride horses with us!

Can't wait to go again!

Randomness. Again.

What's on my mind lately.

-I'm getting REALLY,REALLY excited that Steve and I are going on our Disney trip in just 9 days!!! Soo exciting. Steve and I definitely need a nice vacation, and it's great that we are going with our besties.

-Life is full of surprises. I've been learning a lot this year that I can't plan everything out in life, but I CAN determine how I'm going to take it as it comes. My attitude makes all the difference. Which reminds me of one of my all time favorite talks by President Monson. When he spoke on having an Attitude of Gratitude. I really do have so much to be grateful for.

-Steve is still keeping super busy with all the pharmacy applications. I'm so proud of him. He really works his booty off and still makes plenty of "us" time.

-Still wanting to be a mom. Wanting is the key word. Still no baby.

-Kinda/sorta looking forward to a nice rainstorm. I'm definitely not a fan of the temperature dropping but it's nice to see, hear, and smell one. Plus there is nothing better than having an excuse to stay home in my comfies and get things done indoors. Or heck, maybe make a craft. :)

-I love that everynight Steve and I have been playing the card game 3-13 before we go to bed.

-So happy that I have only 20 minutes left until my 3 day weekend!!

-Being motivated to exercise has and is such a struggle for me. I really need to get my booty into gear!!!

-Took my last water ski run over the weekend. LOVED it!!!! So wishing that didn't have to end.
I'm pretty excited to try snow ski this year!

-Looking forward to carving pumpkins, eating carmel apples and watching a Halloween movie. Not the creepy kind. Something fun like Hocus Pocus!

Well, that's enough randomness. I'm done with work too! woot woot!

Joy.

It's pretty awesome how at peace I am in the fact that I'm losing my job. Steve feels the same way. I haven't found out a yes or no on my interview that I had on Friday, but I think it went really well. I did the best I could, so I'm just crossing my fingers that I could get the job! They told me they aren't giving anyone an answer until between Oct. 15-18.
SO with that in my mind, I'm still keeping my options open and I'm still on the job hunt! If your reading this post and if you see a job opening, please comment it my way please. :)

Conference weekend was PERFECT. I love EVERYTHING about conference. I love that it uplifts me and I get so much counsel. Steve and I went with the fam to the cabin for the weekend. When we weren't watching conference we were playing games, going for a nice walk or water skiing!--MY MOST favorite thing to do in the world besides making something crafty! The water was glass the entire day, it was so perfect.
I just wish I could be two places at once though, my sisters and mom had ladies night on Saturday night, so I had to miss out on that. I really love going to do that too, it's super fun.

Loved our weekend. Can't wait for conference again in the Spring!

P.S. I just heard "Beautiful World (We're All Here)" by Jim Brickman. I'm a fan. OH and also "I look to you"-Amber Riley

Shocked.

Monday, I kept getting a thought that I was going to get fired. I couldn't figure out why because I think I'm a great, reliable employee. I really put my all into my job. I'm supporting Steve and I while he goes to school. So it's super important that I have a job.
Tuesday, same thought. So I started getting a little nervous. What in the world did I do to possibly think that I could get fired? Maybe I'm just going crazy-I don't know.
Wednesday, the first thought I had was I have got to start applying for jobs. So, that's what I started to do. I started applying for other jobs. Within one hour of applying I got a call back and they asked me to come in on Friday for an interview. WOW! That was fast. I started to get mixed emotions. I don't want a new job!! But here I am, applying for new jobs, and than get a call back. So I decided, it won't hurt to take the interview and find out more about the job..
Thursday-Today. I get into work and the entire office is quiet. Everyone looks really sad. My manager tells me to not get on the phones because we have a mandatory meeting that we need to listen too. My heart starts pounding, and my chest starts feeling heavy. Oh. my. gosh.
My company decided that they would close the entire health division. WHICH would be MY job. I generally don't go into detail about my political views on this blog, but today I am. I'm getting on my soap box...I know a lot of people are completely PRO Obama and his new HealthCare Reform ideas, but it's going to wipe out a lot of insurance companies. I know for a fact that my insurance company is/has gone out of busy because of this. A lot of people put the health insurance as the bad guys and the cause of increased of health cost. When in fact the health costs are due to all the healthcare providers and the inflated cost of healthcare. The new HealthCare Reform law that is taking place raises the premiums (cost of insurance that you-member pays), limits insurance company's profits (limiting to a 3% profit, which won't allow any business to stay a float). It really limits your own coverage because the insurance companies can't and won't be able to afford the calendar year maximum's on a plan (generally for durable medical equipment there is a 2500 cym). For example. If a person needs a CPAP machine (a machine that helps a person breathe) generally cost $6,000. Just for the machine. Insurance companies have a calendar year maximum for the year that we pay out. So that we don't go bankrupt ourselves. If we have to pay 6,000 for every single person that needs one of these machines, there is no way that an insurance company is going to survive. That's only one example. SO my point is. Eventually the healthcare becomes worse because insurance companies can't afford to pay out. You as the member get upset because your premiums sky rocket and then YOU won't be able to pay for private healthcare. On the other hand, if you want to go through the governments' healthcare system you will still be paying high premiums...which is HIGHER TAXES!!!
Okay. I'll get off my soap box and explain a little more about today.
It was a really sad day. I have a lot of friends at work who are single mom's, one just bought a house and just moved in today(she's the bread winner of the family too), my manager has cancer, there are husbands and wives that work together there..with a family. The list goes on and on. I care about the people I work with. It was so depressing to see everyone wonder "What am I going to do now?" Thankfully, the company has giving us until Nov.1 before they start terminating employees. There is no actual date of termination yet...but, it could be really any day...for me and my friends/coworkers. I'm just so extremely thankful to heavenly father for prompting me to apply for other jobs and that I already have an interview. I know without a doubt that heavenly father was watching out for Steve and I. It's amazing to know that he does know me and my circumstances and that he does care about what Steve and I have going on in our lives. We really feel so blessed.
I better get going to bed..I have the interview in the morning. Wish me luck!:)
