Thanksgiving Week Recap

MONDAY: On Monday I was able to have the day off. At my job they offer VTO (Volunteer time off) each year. You get the entire day off to go and do volunteer work. How awesome is that? Get work off, and I get to go help the community.
My friend at work does a food drive every year, and she asked me if I wanted to help her. So, I was able to drive up to Park City and go door to door picking up food. It was a really fun day, and I'm happy that I was able to do volunteer work. I really want to make a goal to do something each month, instead of doing it just around Thanksgiving and Christmas time.

TUESDAY: was a regular work day. After work our good friends, Dan and Carrie invited us over for dinner and to hang out. The dinner was DELISH! I just kept eating and eating. :) And then we were all able to just hang out and talk. Carrie just had her new little guy Nixon a couple weeks ago. So, it was SOO much fun to hold the new little baby. And they also have the cutest little 3 year old. He is such a crack up! :) We loved getting together with this lil' fam, we always have such a good time.

WEDNESDAY: We celebrated STEVE's 26th Birthday! (which is in the previous post)

THURSDAY: Thanksgiving Day!!! Steve and I put up all of Christmas Decorations! I seriously couldn't wait to put up our Christmas Tree! My mom gave us a cute little village this year, and I absolutely love it! After decorating, and doing some relaxing. Steve and I went over to my parents house for our Thanksgiving dinner. Not only was all of my immediate family there, but also grandma Anderson, my aunt pam and my cousins. We all had a great time eating, talking, and relaxing. Then towards the evening we were all able to go see 2012. Ah, not a favorite. It was a good movie, but I don't care to see it again. After the movie, Steve and I headed home. What a great Thanksgiving! We loved spending time with the fam.

FRIDAY: The Original plan was to wake up early and go to Manilla to meet Steve's fam at the cabin. Steve and I didn't get up until 8:00am and decided it just wasn't worth the drive for only one night. We felt bad, and we missed seeing them over the Thanksgiving break, but luckily the live really close. So, instead of the cabin get-away, we decided we would attempt the mall and the stores on "Black Friday". We first went to the mall, and there was a Christmas concert. Steve and Lisa James were actually the ones who performed (they are in my parents ward, and Steve helped me with my Pageant in 2006) they are both extremely talented. We loved listening to their music and then we went shopping!
Steve and I had a fun day shopping, and spending time with one another!

SATURDAY: Steve and I decided to do a surprise visit to Grandpa and Grandma Ford's house! It had been way too long since we last visited, so we wanted to go see them. Steve called grandma Ford in the morning to see what her plans were for the rest of the day. Steve did a great job at finding out her plans without letting her know we were coming up.
We loved surprising both of them! We had so much fun just talking with them, and grandma of course made us her famous homemade shakes! We also watched the BYU/UTAH game in between our conversations. Grandpa wanted to take us out to dinner, so during half time, we all went to Robintinos and had a very good dinner. After dinner, we decided we should head back home. Steve and I are very lucky to have such awesome grandparents! We sure love you guys!

SUNDAY: I still can't believe the holiday week is already over. It's a bummer that the Thanksgiving holiday has already come and gone, and our long break from school and work is about to end.
We went to church, and then Sherrie Behunin (our family/friend/landlord) came over and had lunch with us. I seriously LOVE Sherrie! She's not really family, but she practically is. Steve and I have lived with Sherrie and Blake now for over 3 years, and we absolutely love these guys. Blake was at the firehouse, so we wanted to keep Sherrie company. After lunch, we ran to my mom and dad's. My mom and I are making these super cute Christmas Advent Calendar's, so we worked on those and Steve hung out with my daddy-o.
We had to run back home around 4ish so I could start cooking dinner. Our good friends Tim, Marie and Deni came over. We always have such a blast when we hang out with them! We all just relaxed, talked and were entertained by cute lil' Deni. Deni is only 1 1/2 and she is so smart! Marie pointed to me and said Deni "who's that?" she then says Keira. Loud and clear. It seriously made my day! ha ha. Steve and I love when our friends kids say our names. I can only imagine how ecstatic Steve and I will be when our own kids say our name. We had so much fun with Tim, Marie and Deni! We are SOOOO happy that they moved closer.

Steve and I are definitely blessed to have such AWESOME Family and Friends!

Happy THANKSGIVING!

This morning I woke up Steve early before I had to go into work. I had a banner hung and his birthday present with his card. I get so excited about birthdays/holidays! I wanted to see Steve's face when he saw everything.

I gave Steve the new "This is It" soundtrack by Michael Jackson, and then in the card it shows that we are going to a surprise concert tonight. Steve was SO excited! He hasn't gone to many concerts, and so he was thrilled to know we would be going to one tonight.

After I got home from work Steve and I went to the Gateway and looked at the shops, and went to Hansen Planetarium.

We looked around at everything, and then after we went to the surprise concert...
TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA

The concert was AMAZING!! We got hooked up with the tickets and with awesome seats in the All-Star suite.

Steve and I loved the show! Then once the concert was over we went to Archibalds for dinner. Oh, and something really awesome, if you go on your birthday or the month of your birthday you can eat there for free. :)
We didn't get home until around 9:30ish, and Steve wanted to see the new movie "Star Trek". So, we went to redbox and picked that up, than watched the movie. I don't remember much of the movie, the last thing I remember is that at 1:30am we woke up on the couch and headed to bed. Steve said he thought the movie was pretty awesome.
I'm sure lucky to have such an amazing hubby! I love you Steve!

"NEW" Weekend

Can I just say how AMAZING the movie New Moon is? Seriously. Steve and I went to New Moon on Friday with our good friends Tim and Marie. New Moon is SO much better than the first movie Twilight. I LOVED Twilight, but New Moon is by far better.
Steve and I loved it so much, we took my sister in law, Whit to the night showing. She LOVED it too. It's crazy how tired Steve and I got though by the end of the day. Steve fell asleep, and I was having the hardest time staying awake. (No matter how much I loved the show) Lesson learned, we aren't going to a late night movie ever again.

Bob and Ellen came home from Australia on Saturday. I still can't believe how fast the 2 weeks went. Steve, Whit and I picked them up from the airport and then came back to the house and visited with them for awhile. Steve and I went home and got some grocery shopping in, and then we met up with the Fords again, at Chili's. We all had a great dinner and was able to catch up some more. I'm really happy that Bob and Ellen are home! We all missed them while they were gone!

Sunday, I got a new calling.I was sustained to be a Beehive Advisor. To be completely honest, I was very shocked. I felt a little inadequate. I've been in primary and nursery for the last 3 years, and so being in the Young Women's is out of my "comfort zone" or what I'm used to. I'm REALLY excited to be in the Young Women's though, I think this calling will be a great growing opportunity for me. I met some of the girls on Sunday, and they are all super cute. I'm really excited to get to know each of them. I wasn't able to stay in YW's though for very long because I still had to teach Nursery. While I was in the Nursery, I loved being with the kids, but I got this feeling that I don't belong in there anymore. It was a really neat feeling. Because it was really hard for me last Sunday, when I had to say goodbye to all the kids...

Also, on Sunday Steve and I went over to my parents house and had a deli sh dinner that my mom made. It was great because all of us kids were able to be there. Oh and some REALLY EXCITING NEWS....Steve and I are going to have a new neice or nephew! My sister Kartier is Prego!! I'm so excited for her, and I can't wait until she finds out what she's having so we can go baby shopping. :)

Well that sums up our "New" weekend!

Bitter-Sweet

Well this weekend was a busy one, it didn't start off the best. I got off of work on Friday at 4:30pm and I didn't get home until 6:30pm! 2 hrs being stuck in traffic. I absolutely hate traffic. There was an 8 car accident on the freeway, so it caused a delay everywhere. I tried going on the back roads, but it was still just as busy. I was getting super annoyed, but what can you do? It was getting dark, so I just turned up the radio and danced and sang in my truck. Way to make a bad situation better, well a little.

Whit was waiting at home for me and Steve was still at school taking one of his tests. Whit and I had dinner and then decided we were in the crafty mood. So, we looked at fabric and tried to decide what we wanted to make. That didn't last long, because soon after Steve was home, and I wanted to spend time with him too. All of us were pretty pooped too, from the long day. So, we wanted to watch a movie and just relax. Kris, my brother called and wanted to know if he could hang out with us too. So, Kris and Tina (his girlfriend) came over and we all watched X-Men Wolverine. Loved having them come over. :) Oh and I just love my sister in law whit!

On Saturday we woke up to SNOW! Yeah yeah! I love how pretty the snow looks! I don't like how dang cold it gets though. Saturday we were able to get a lot done and then later, kart and Chris came over. They brought us pizza, salad and ice cream. How nice is that? And then the guys all watched the football game, Kart fell asleep and Whit painted my nails for me. I love how crazy they are!

Sunday was a bitter-sweet day. Our ward was finally split. Which it definitely needed to be. We had 850 members in our ward. It was HUGE!! It was seriously like stake conference every week. I'm really happy for our bishop, and that he (I'm sure) will be very much relieved and a huge burden will be off of him. So, that's the sweet part, but the bitter part is that all my little nursery kids will be in the other ward. All but one. I really loved all the little kids. It was a really sad day when they gave me hugs goodbye. I must admit, when I first went to nursery it was completely chaotic. Kids screaming, noses running, and the smell of a dirty diaper about did me in for. I didn't know how I could spend the next 2 hours doing this. I really didn't think I could enjoy nursery. Boy was I wrong. The kids only cried because they weren't familiar with me, they wanted there parents. I still would get the frequent dirty diaper each week, and yea, I never enjoyed that part, but I could take the kid out and have the parent take care of the dirty work. I've been in the nursery now for 10 months, and I've become attached to the little ones. :)

They always bring such a sweet spirit into the classroom, and they always are making me laugh. Some of the stuff they say are just a crack up. For example, there's this little boy who is 3 and he was sad. So, I asked him what he wanted to play? He says lets play "BATMAN" and as he said Batman his voice went raspy like the batman character. It was SO funny! He then tells me I'm going to be Bat girl. So, throughout the rest of nursery he wouldn't answer by his name, but if you called him Batman. Everything he said was through his Batman voice. It was so cute. I'm really grateful that I was able to teach these nursery kids, and I know that heavenly father put me in this calling because they have taught me a lot.

And, some exciting NEWS!!!!!! Kolten got his mission call! I'm so excited for him! He's going to Ventura, California (Spanish speaking). I still can't believe my baby brother is going to be a missionary.

What's on my mind....

I'm at work right now and there is some free time in between calls... so, I just wanted to jot down some things that are on mind lately.
First of all, I am completely obsessed with THE BIGGEST LOSER. I can't get enough of that show. I love tv shows that help people and make them become better people. I absolutely love watching the people transform not only on the outside but on the inside. Steve and I couldn't believe that Shay was kicked off last night. I was really hoping that she could stay.... I get completely wrapped up in that show. oh and I freaking LOVE Gillian!

Steve and I are staying at the Ford's house for 2 weeks, while they are in AUSTRALIA. How nice is that? I think that would be an amazing vacation. Someday Steve and I will go! It's been on my dream vacation list :) It's been fun staying with whit, and house sitting. Not to mention they have a Foosball table. Which I absolutely LOVE playing against Steve at. he he.

I've learned a lot in the last couple weeks. I've been really excited about the whole getting pregnant idea. When I set my mind to something, I want it to happen. I've been getting upset lately and frustrated because I'm not pregnant yet.
Steve's been EXTREMELY wonderful with helping me realize that it's all in the lords time. It's not on MY time. Steve said something the other night that made me really think. He said isn't it enough that this time is Me and You time? He's absolutely right. I need to stop dwelling on what other people are doing, or when they are prego, but just focus on what's going on right now. I love Steve and I'm really blessed to have him as my best friend. We have this time to share together and when we dohave a baby, it won't ever be just me and him And when the lord wants us to have a baby, the time will happen. It seriously was a breakthrough moment for me. I was getting stressed over nothing.
My little sister, Kjersti just had her 17th birthday yesterday! I can't believe it. My baby sister is 17! And my little brother Kolten is getting his mission call next Wednesday! WHAT?!! It's sad how all my "little" brothers and sisters aren't so little anymore. I'm really excited for koltie to be getting his missioncall though! I'm guessing he will be going to somewhere in EUROPE. He's going to be such a hard worker and I know he's going to be an amazing missionary.
This is a pic of all three of my handsome bro's, but Kolt is the one on the left.

And something REALLY off subject...

I can't get the new song by PINK out of my head..."This used to be a fun house...do, do, do, do" Super catchy song.

Bummer, the calls just started to pick up...well, i'm going to start "working" again! :)

HaLlOwEeN Weekend

Steve and I started off our weekend going to "This is It" which I absolutely LOVED!!! The dancing and music is SOOO good! I seriously loved it, I could watch it again and again. MJ was SO talented. As I listened to the music I just wanted to get up and dance and sing a long.

After the movie we were able to go and visit with Matt and Allie and there little girl Lucy. It was really fun to see them. Steve served with Matt on his mission, and it had been way too long since we've seen them last. So we had fun catching up with them and seeing their really cute new house.
On Saturday, (Halloween) Steve and I went over to the Ford's house. Steve studied ALL day and did a research paper, while mom ford, Whit and I canned our very own applesauce! We spent pretty much the whole day doing this. I had no idea it took so long... I LOVED it though! I thought it was really nice of Ellen to teach me. It was a lot of work, but with good company it was a lot of fun. While we waited for the bottles to seal, Ellen and I went on a nice walk. The walk was really nice and the weather was perfect for kids to go trick-or-treating! I had a lot of fun with Steve's mom and whit! I sure feel really blessed to have such awesome in-laws!

Also this weekend Steve and I heard on the news about Mary Strey. Steve and I were laughing SOO hard when we heard this on the news. If you haven't heard about it, here it is:
Clark County woman recently called 911 to report a drunk driver, but it turns out, she was the one under the influence.
Dispatcher: Clark County 911
Mary Strey: Somebody's really drunk driving down Granton Road...
Dispatcher: ...Which way are they going?
Mary Strey: They are going, um...
Dispatcher: Towards Granton or towards Neillsville?
Mary Strey: Towards Granton
Dispatcher: Okay are you behind them, or...
Mary Strey: No, I am them
Dispatcher: You am them?
Mary Strey: Yes, I am them
Dispatcher: Okay, so you want to call and report that you're driving drunk?
Mary Strey: Yes
Oh and I couldn't resist adding this picture of our cute nephew Carson. He dressed up as a lil' pumpkin for Halloween. (Thanks Jade for the Pic)
